Summary:
With the assistance of the Legal Environmental Assistance Foundation
(LEAF), Florida Power & Light (FP&L) is developing a green
pricing program which will help support a grid connected 10 kW photovoltaic
system at one of FP&L's existing power stations. FP&L initiated
this program in early 1997 in response to the Florida Public Service
Commission's push to save a percentage of the state's energy generation
through conservation and renewable energy programs. FP&L will
use bill inserts and direct mailings to solicit customer contributions
to the program.
JEA - Solar Incentive Program

Eligible Technologies: Solar Water Heat, Photovoltaics
Applicable Sectors: Commercial, Residential
Amount: $2-$4/W for PV and $1 to $20 per square foot of solar water
heater collectors
Max. Limit: $50,000/installation
Effective Date: 4/20/02
Summary:
JEA launched their Solar Incentive program on April 20, 2002. The
program provides incentives to residential and commercial customers
who install new and retrofit photovoltaic and solar pool and hot
water heaters on their homes and businesses. A list of approved
contractors is available on the JEA Web site. The approved contractor
will install the system and invoice JEA for the incentive amount,
which varies, and can be up to $4 per watt for photovoltaic systems
and up to $20 per square foot of solar water heater collectors.
There is a maximum of $50,000 for each installation. The Program
Manager reports that a campaign is underway to educate the community
about solar water heating. Program marketing is occurring through
the program Web site, bill stuffers, and information packets.
